"Chinese Bridge" Contest for Primary and Secondary School Students

On 16 May 2026, the preliminary round of the "Chinese Bridge" contest for primary school students was held in Banja Luka. At this competition, organized by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka, participants had the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of the Chinese language, culture and traditions through speech, music, dance and other creative content. First place, along with the opportunity to represent her country at the final competition, which will be held in September 2026 in China, was won by Iva Slavnić from Banja Luka.

Two representatives of the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka, Stela Jusić and Katarina Mitrović, won the second place in the "Chinese Bridge" contest for secondary school students that was held on 30 May 2026 in Sarajevo, while Žana Gavrić, a student of the Banja Luka Grammar School, shared the third place with a student from Sarajevo, Ahmen Karahmet. All participants demonstrated excellent knowledge of the Chinese language and culture.

"Chinese Bridge" is a competition that connects all those who are interested in the Chinese language and culture, and the preliminary competition is held once a year in a large number of countries around the world. The winners of the preliminary part have the opportunity to show their knowledge and represent their country at the final competition in Beijing.
