Representatives of the Confucius Institute at University of Banja Luka visited the Philological
Gymnasium and the Confucius Institute at Faculty of Philology in Belgrade on 12 October 2021.
The aim of the visit to these institutions was to continue the cooperation and organization of joint classes for the students of the two Confucius Classrooms from Banja Luka and Belgrade.
Confucius Institute Home Director Ljiljana Stević and Chinese Director Shen Li talked with the
representatives and professors of the Philological Gymnasium about various forms of
cooperation and exchange of knowledge and experiences.
After visiting the school and the premises of the Confucius Classroom, representatives of the
Confucius Institute had the opportunity to attend a Chinese language class by Professor Pjevic, where students of this school showed excellent knowledge of written and spoken language.
In the meeting with the representatives of the Confucius Institute in Belgrade, they were
introduced to the work of this institute, teaching methods and organization of the HSK tests
(Chinese Proficiency Examination) for students from Serbia and the region, and there are many due to the different employment opportunities they have after completing the courses in one of the many Chinese companies operating in the Republic of Serbia.
This institute organizes Chinese language and culture courses in 24 primary and secondary
schools throughout Serbia, which due to the current epidemiological situation are held online, as well as online Chinese language courses for all interested citizens, prepared and held by three native and eight local Chinese language teachers.
The visit of the representatives of both institutions to the Confucius Institute at University of
Banja Luka in the near future was agreed.
