On 16 February 2023, representatives of the Sinology Study Programme at the Faculty of
Philology and the Confucius Institute of the University of Banja Luka participated in an online
meeting with professor Xu Baofeng from the Beijing Language and Culture University related to the ‘History of World Sinologists’ project.
In addition to Asst. Prof. Ljiljana Stević, PhD, Head of the Sinology Study Programme, the
teaching assistants Sonja Stanković, MA, and Anja Mudrenović, MA, as well as the professor at the Confucius Institute of the University of Banja Luka, Milana Bjelić, took also part in this
It is about a project that aims to create a database of sinologists from all parts of the world, in
order to preserve their academic papers, audio and visual records, historical memories and
academic thoughts, which would be permanently exhibited at the World Sinology Centre of
Beijing Language and Culture University. The aim is also to present the results of all the
sinologists through separate monographs and documentaries and in general the development of worldwide sinology. Professors and teaching assistants of the Faculty of Philology and the
Confucius Institute of the University of Banja Luka, who are also members of the Association of Sinologists of Central and Eastern Europe, stand out for their dedicated work and numerous
achievements in the field of promoting Chinese culture and strengthening ties between Bosnia
and Herzegovina and the People's Republic of China.
